Keep ready prepared raw veg in the fridge so it's there when you feel like munching. Also try to have at least one serving with each meal. It's best to try to make it more interesting by adding other ingredients. My personal favorites are:
Carrot Sticks with hummous
Lettuce with salsa (don't knock it till you've tried it)
Mushrooms with sprinkled cheese
Tomatoes with pepper
So yummy, so simple, so healthy.

PS- Concerning one of the other answers, Special K is one of the worst cereals for you, so please do not listen to whoever suggested that (no offence Krin). Seriously. Go look at the sugar content- It's absolutely loaded with it. It's also higher in calories and salt than most other savory cereals like all-bran and shredded wheat. The whole healthy image is a scam

Anyone have some weight loss tips...need to lose weight quick?

Alright I'm getting Married in 2 months and want to lose some vanity pounds. I'm not fat by any means but I got some extra weight i'd like to get rid of. I'm 5 foot 8 165 pounds and ideally would like to be back down around 145. I know i won't accomplish everything by the wedding but i want to be well on my way. Please offer any tips for me you can think of but consider the following factors...

I do not want to do weights at this point
I work 2 jobs so time is limited
joining gym is also not in immediate plans

Joe answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

What are some tips for weight loss? please help!?

I'm not fat at all, I just want to get into the best shape that I possibly can by christmas. I'm a vegan, and I don't eat bread of any kind or processed sugars, so what I eat is on track... but when it comes to working out, what should i do to get quick results and the best results i can get? i'm home schooled so i have all the time in the world to exercise.. what should i do?

Joe answers:

Jog. Every other day for the first week, then every day if you want to. Jog until you feel like not jogging any more, then walk home. Maybe it's just five minutes the first day. Time it on a watch. The next time you jog, go for six minutes. Next time seven. You body adapts, and jogging gets easier, meaning less annoying or painful. The important things is to stop when you want to. Hating it means you will probably quit. Enjoying your slow but steady progress means a marathon may be a long way off, but very, very possible. For the rest of the day, and for your non jogging days, sit or lie down as little as possible. Pick an easy exercise every hour, like sit-ups or push-ups, and do it until you get a bit tired. Then do a stretch related to the muscles you just used for 60 seconds. Choose new and fun things several times each day,and in this way make slow fitness and flexibility progress just like with your jogging. Don't over do it, but don't sit on your duff and do nothing it you can help it. Need faster progress? Pick an exercise and stretch more than once an hour. But keep in mind if you get injured, exercise stops, and fitness goes backwards twice as fast as it goes forwards.
