Mandy asks…
how quick should i see results? toning/fat loss?
i'm starting a new workout plan where i swim laps for an hour, about 4-5 days a week, and im wondering how long it will take for me to see toning/fat loss in my leg/ab area. like inner thighs, abs and obliques. i will also be doing alot of other ab work out legn work like squats, lunges, situps, side bends, etc. during the week. with a proper diet, how long should it be until i see a little bit of results?

will this workout plan work for quick weight loss?
I am 15 year old male, i am 6'0" tall and weigh 180. I am not fat but I am on the chubby side (almost all in the torso area which causes me very low self esteem) I have read that sauna-ing every day helps break down fatty tissues to where you can get rid of it faster is this true? I have a very long torso and want a gymnast build. will this work out plan help get me there before the end of 2011? if not can you suggest some other plans? (I have full access to a gym)

Yes! Also remember to have a healthy diet. Eating fatty foods isnt gonna help you. Have lots of protein, fruits and veggies and make sure to drink alot of water. Right now im on a diet thats low carb and no junk food. I go to the gym 5 days a week for an hour. I eat 1200 calories per day. 6-8 glasses of water and i take vitamins. Ive lost 17 pounds in less than 2 months. Your program sounds good though. Wish you success!
Susan asks…
Better/quicker for weight loss: fat burning or cardio????
I'm trying to lose 30-40 lbs within a couple months. I've got a good diet regimen already, now I just need a surefire fitness plan. I don't have a lot of time/money to invest in a gym membership so the best for my lifestyle is workout dvds. I recently bought a cardio mixed with light weight training, but there were a lot that were categorized as "Fat Burning" as opposed to the ones categorized as "Cardio". It's (obviously) the extra lbs of fat I want off of me, that will then result in less weight, so my question is, which should I invest my time in primarily?? I am ok with alternating, but I do wanna know which to focus more on.
Thanks!! :)

Excercises labeled cardio are great for fat burning as well. Excercises that are specifically fat burning probably have cardio as well. So go with the excercises you enjoy. Running for an hour every day is a great way to get your heart going (which is key for heart health) and a great way to burn fat. Remember to keep your heart rate at your target heart rate for your age for maximum fat burning. You can find that information here: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4736
